Specialties... Dr. Prince recognizes that the technology of modern orthodontics is ever changing, bringing with it new and better ways to treat each case with more predictability. Recent advances in orthodontic materials allow for shorter treatment times with less discomfort. As the orthodontic profession changes, Dr. Prince is aggressive in his efforts to stay current with the most up to date advances in sterilization techniques, and state of the art orthodontic appliances. He uses the “Unitek” brand of braces that are noted for their extremely high quality, ease of application and painless removal. Each “brace” or bracket is individually packaged for sterility and is specific for every tooth in the mouth. A great deal of focus is given to the interceptive philosophy of orthodontics. Dr. Prince suggests that a child’s first visit to his office be approximately the age of 7 or 8 years old. While it is not often that complex treatment is commenced at this early age, some patients benefit greatly from simple interceptive procedures that are not costly and may prevent more serious problems as the child matures. He never charges for an initial consultation with him, and provides complimentary “growth checks” as the child matures. In this manner, both conservative and comprehensive treatment can be planned for without the “surprises” that make the family savings account nervous. Even though orthodontics seems to be common with the 10 –16 year olds, adult orthodontics is becoming increasingly popular. Dr. Prince offers state of the art ceramic (clear) braces at no extra charge that many adults select because of their near invisibility. Most of his adult patients are surprised at how easy it is to have their teeth straightened and that treatment usually takes no longer than it would for a young patient.
